| Tasting Notes for
1997 Napa Ridge Pinot Noir

Not too bad, especially for $8. Bouquet shows sour cherries. Wine is moderately tannic (more than some pinot noirs) and slightly sweet. Flavors of black cherry, red plum, and slightly rotten cherries come through. You know the few over-ripe cherries in the basket? That's what this wine is reminiscent of. Reasonably complex, not at all unpleasant, sturdy enough to stand up to a complex and sturdy meal; I drank this alongside pasta with a tomato-clam sauce. Enough said.
