Tasting Notes for 1998 Ken Forrester Chenin Blanc

This wine was new for me in two ways: it was my first exposure to Chenin Blanc as a sole-bottled varietal and it was my first exposure to a South African wine. This was served alongside grilled salmon, ahi tuna, and carrots. It is moderately sweet, reminiscent of a Sauvignon Blanc. It is a fine choice for a fruity white that is not overly oaky, and was entirely pleasant. I paid $10 for the bottle. [April 2000]
