A fist-fighter that comes out swinging. Phenolic notes in the nose and palate. Medicinal, seaweedy. A ton of iodine, with sweet notes, kelp, peat, and driftwood. Mouthfeel is coating, like trying to get rid of a mouthful of olive oil. Not hot or rough like a young Islay can be. The attack is delivered in the flavors, not the packaging. A fine malt. Suggested for: Believe it or not, I would suggest this as an aperitif, but make sure it's before a sturdy meal |
