Glenfarclas "105"

Distillery bottling, 60% a.b.v.

Nose is enormous and room-filling, heavily sherried, candied, herbal. Water brings out more complexity, the nose becoming grainy. Slightly earthy palate, with sweet whisky, smoke, caramel, cassis, orange peel. Mellow smoke and sweet tropical fruits in finish. It is nearly undrinkable when first opened, however. If you purchase a bottle, I recommend opening it, pouring a little bit, resealing it, and letting the bottle sit on the shelf for at least 2 - 3 weeks, although some would say six months.

Suggested for: After dinner
