The mcgees.org eBay Bidder Blacklist
eBay make(s) it possible to blacklist (or, if you will, black list) bidders. This prevents the named eBay users from bidding on one’s auctions. The page has been made much more difficult to find, so here you go.
Given eBay’s recent “reforms” that essentially assume all buyers are good and all sellers are criminals, blocking bidders is going to be, more and more, the only recourse for sellers.
I’ll seed the list. I’ll maintain it in this top post in a form you can just cut-and-paste into your blocked list. I’ll have a comment that justifies each addition. Feel free to use my list. If you have additions, post your eBay ID, the bidder(s)’s ID(s), and the reason you block them. I’ll check it out, and if you have glowing feedback and the other guy has lousy feedback, I’ll incorporate your addition into my list.
Sellers can block up to 1000 User IDs. Yes, that’s a drop in the bucket, but it’s a start. Let’s get this list as close to 1000 bidders as possible. When we pass thirty User IDs, I’ll make it a text file you can download, rather than a list you cut-and-paste.
If you are one of the blocked bidders, you are welcome to post here and, in a civilized manner, explain why you do not deserve to be blacklisted. You get one shot at this. I will warn you in advance that it will be much more difficult to get off this list than to get on: the purpose of this is to protect sellers, something that eBay has/have ceased to do.

The whole idea, of course, is the cost of losing a bid from one of these clowns is much lower than the cost of dealing with a non-paying bidder.
Too bad eBay limits you to 1000 — we’re coming up on that mighty quickly, if wc is to be believed.

I’m sorry for the post and run earlier, I should have elaborated. The users named above were either on my blocked list or those of close contacts. The majority of the user names collected are/were related to the clothing, accessories, and collectibles categories. You may want to become more selective and find lists of potenial *problem* bidders in your own niche when they (and hopefully they will be plentiful!) become available. Currently the blocked limit is 1,000 but will increase to 5,000 in May of this year. GEE, thanks ebay
Remove the little protection we had to fend off bogus buyers and give us the *bonus* of adding a whole 1/100,000,000 additional, POTENTIAL &$(%^’s to our lists. Oh, the defense….
In the meantime…Praying for a fair marketplace and hoping ebay (ok, I’ve had it with them!) gets what they deserve. Payback is always hell

We are sellers on ebay and spend a lot of time finding really cool vintage pieces to put up for auctions….as most of you know this takes time and we appreciate to have some respect for what we do….
Lately we have been hit by a virus of non paying bidders….Ant at this point i’m sick of it!!!!!!
There should be a site or even blog with all the non paying ebay bidders,yes, and I do find it would be much more interesting that we have there REAL NAMES and SHOPNAMES on this list……all this bidders have more then one ebay id and account and just switch over from one to the other…..

dbear1251 - bidder was extremely unreasonable after UPS lost the package. Late night calls were made to me demanding information only UPS could know. This was after I emailed the bidder all the information I knew and told them the time line UPS required for lost packages. Even when I refunded the bidder’s money minutes after I received the final decision from UPS, the bidder left negative feedback stating I was slow to refund. Bidder even demanded interest on their purchase money….so frustrating!

I sell vintage clothing on ebay and I also am sick of the increasing number of non-paying bidders. My latest NON-PAYING BIDDER is tikka_rotti. She purchased a pair of UNIQUE Vintage 1980’s Black CAMPUS PIRATE Boots - CUFF for $122. After 3 weeks and no payment I finally gave up. I had contacted her early on as she was a new ebayer and when she finally did contact me, in response to an UNPAID ITEM DISPUTE, she promised to pay monday (kind of like the ‘cheques in the mail’). Needless to say no payment or further contact at all. I did try contacting her via email, SMS and mobile but she ignored me. She bought & paid for other items from other sellers during this time but apparently she had changed her mind about my boots.
I really don’t understand why people bid when they either don’t intend to pay or can’t pay. And while EBAY offers “second chance offers’ to the next bidders in line, by the time you’ve waited for the winning bidder to pay (and they don’t), the other bidders have already bought elsewhere so you are back to relisting! GREAT!
Thanks to EBAY’s “no negative feedback for buyers rule” other sellers are not aware of NON-PAYING BIDDERS so a site like this is perfect! Thank you so much, it’s nice to feel that although EBAY is throwing us to the wolves to fend for ourselves someone is doing something!

P.S. Okay EBAY won’t let us tell the truth about our experiences with buyers - makes no sense but to be truthful EBAY hasn’t been making much sense at all lately. But why, after a UNPAID ITEM DISPUTE has closed due to non-payment, can’t a message be activated by EBAY in the buyers feedback stating - NON-PAYING BIDDER for the item??

Arthur26 is a horrible person. Bought a clarinet from me. I described it perfectly and it was used only a couple weeks and my son changed instruments. She bought it had it over 2 months and sends me an email saying the cork was in awful shape and it was severly damaged and could not be repaired. That she was told it had to have seen extreme use to be in such awful shape. Since I sold it, I know the shape it was in and it was perfect. Then she demanded I refund her money within 3 days and once she received the refund including shipping she would then return it to me. Anyway, after an email or two she finally admitted that it was the cork that was damaged and could be replaced, but that it was a cheap clarinet. Well, geez, she only paid $50 for it….She went on and on about how I ruined her daughters band experience and I owed her more than the amount she paid. Anyway, sellers, STAY AWAY…..

Wrong Paypal address on file, item therefore not received by buyer. Buyer demanded a refund. Refused to update PayPal address. Offered replacement AND provided refund, buyer still not happy. Spent a large amount of time and angst with this complainy-pants guy over a $1.00 item. Seller beware.

generousity_1982 was an absolute nightmare buyer no feedback and purchesed a car without contact before the close of auction. when contacted he tried to negotiate on price immediatly and asked if the cambelt had been changed.
Arranged to collect the car the next day but failed to make contact, when contacted again he said he had not bid on the car it was his friend who had bought another car and now didn’t want this one.
It was explained that he was obligated to purchase and again he began to try and negotiate on price.
flat refused to pay and has lied to ebay saying he has had no contact with non existant friend when he’s told me he’s tried to make him buy the car again on several occasions.
i am writing this in the hope that someone will google his username and avoid this time wasting no good liar if hes currently bidding on your car remove him coz you’ll never see a penny.

Has been blocked form my acutions he has accused me of lying. He also put a claim in got refunded and sent me back a different item. Ebay’s poicy are not good for buyers. This guy threatend to report me and he also threatened to slander my name.
