I know, my opinions regarding s Day are widely considered controversial. But sometimes, in a moral argument such as s day, one needs to plant one’s feet and take the difficult position. s Day forever!

Hi Paul,

For Riot Act, I did the same thing and saw them in San Diego and LA. Good shows, too, I thought, but not as good as this tour. We did head out to Vegas for Tori.

Times of Trouble and Footsteps have the same chord progression (Stone wrote it.) It was on the demo tape that Ed received, and Stone also submitted it to Chris Cornell. The two singers independently wrote lyrics and melody lines. What you heard at the concert was Footsteps (it’s a B-side on Jeremy, and it’s on Footsteps with the harmonica added.)

We actually came in on “World Wide Suicide,” and there was a second song before “Animal.” Nevertheless, it took us that long to find our seats and so I think I imprinted on it.

“Garden” and “Porch” on Monday both killed me. Mike, I think I forgot “Garden” on my LJ setlist.

But Monday would bring me Times of Trouble. Paul also thinks that they started Monday’s set with Animal, which is a real kick-in-the-teeth-attention-grabber way to start a show.

Yes, I saw them on Friday in San Diego and on Monday in LA. Both shows were great. The former was a slower, more sentimental set, and the Monday show was a real rocker. Both were amazing. If you are just going to buy the FLACs from one show, I’d recommend Monday’s. The new Garden is fantastic, and they pulled out a lot of rarities, in addition to Marker in the Sand, and Mamasan backwards (Footsteps, then Once, then Alive.) Friday’s show brings you Crown of Thorns and a crushingly sad Come Back, however.

Not that this relates in any way to the almost fatal cuteness of your child, but did you happen to catch Pearl Jam while they were in town? My friend Paul saw them on Monday night, and said it was the best performance that he’d seen out of them. Looking at the set list, I have trouble disagreeing.
