We ship every day via UPS. Generally the results are acceptable. But, we know that UPS is self-insured, and so is going to automatically deny any damage claims. They always use the "improperly packed" bail-out.

When pressed for a definition of "improperly packed", UPS explains that some of there conveyors are six foot above concrete floors, so any package sent by UPS should be able to stand at least a six foot drop to a concrete floor.

We continue to UPS because none of the other carriers an improvement, and because we are generally shipping items not easily damaged and of under $400 in value. But tes, UPS has destroyed their share of pumps and other items. In all cases I have found it's better for us to just eat the loss and move on. Were I shipping higher value items, I would seek out a third party insurer and not rely on UPS.

<b>Justin</b>, I made a complaint to the regional center about an employee when he did the same thing to me some years ago, His solution? He would run halfway up the stairs (one could hear them from the apartment) and <i>literally threw</i> the package at my door. So from our side what we heard was stomp-stomp-stomp-stomp-crash! Then I stopped ordering from UPS for several years. I found one way to get your packages delivered safely is (weirdly enough) to <i>get a PMB at a "UPS Store"</i>. There all the packages are handled like Faberge eggs.

I've used three different UPS Stores for this. One (my current one) is wonderful, one was OK, and the third was unbelievably bad. Every time I got a package, the owner would become angry with me.

He finally told me, "Mailbox for mostly mail only. Packages only sometimes."

I asked him why in the world would I pay him $19/month for his services when, for $17 per <b>year</b>, I could get a post office box?

He shrugged. "We have too many customers."

I said, "Oh, OK, I'll help with that," and canceled my mailbox.

<i>"We have too many customers?</i> What kind of businessman says that? Un-frakking-believable.

Expecting a package today checked online and saw it was 'out for delivery' so I left work early. Was driving up the street and saw the UPS truck just down the road and was glad I got home in time. Went in the house, took off my shoes, wondered what was taking him so long, opened the door and looked around... nothing. Waited another 5min and did same only to find a note on the door saying I wasn't home. Meanwhile I was 5ft from the door the entire time. Lazy SOB didn't bother to knock (was probably behind in delivery and wanted to get off on time). Tried to call to complain about the jerk but of course all you get it automated BS. Go to hell UPS, no wonder newegg offers shipping via them for FREE... still overpriced at that if you ask me.

My sister sent me package from Texas to Ontario.. She geve me the tracking number and i dutifully followed my package via the tracking number. according to the track my parcel would arrive December 03. and guess what it did!!! it actually arrived at my apartment complex on time. The driver arrived he buzzed my number i let him in.... i waited by the door for about 5 minutes waiting for my package, and nothing happened so wondering what was going on i opened my door only to see a notice attached to my door saying i was not home and will be back tomorrow...........the lazy driver did not knock on my door instead i guess it was easier to leave a notice.
now i got to take a chance he will be back tomorrow and waste a good part of the day hoping i will bet my package
FEDEX for me next time

WATCH OUT when sending packages with UPS! My daughter came home for 7 months while her husband was shipped out in the Navy. She took her computer to the UPS store on base, they filled it with peanuts at the store, sold her insurance, BUT the insurance was only for lost or stolen. She got her computer, I accepted it, the box was clearly beat up, the computer came broken. After several atempts to get ups or the ups store to do the right thing and fix the computer that was my daughters communication to her husband. Well guess what? Neither of them would do the right thing! MAKE SURE YOU USE THEIR BOXES, THEY PACK IT, AND CHECK YOU INSURANCE THEY SELL YOU! Oh yes, if you do have a problem, GOOD LUCK WITH HAVING A MANAGER CALL YOU BACK. THAT NEVER HAPPENED EITHER FROM UPS.

MAY I SUGGEST YOU GO WITH FEDEX OR US MAIL!

I ordered a camera from USA and chose UPS couriers who I thought they were a reputable company (5 - 7 days delivery) After a week a woman phoned me from UPS & left a message on my voicemail saying that she needed some documentation from me before she could release my package. So I phoned back to see what she needed. After holding for 10mins I was told she was busy. I called again and was told again that she was busy. I left my number but nobody called. The next day I called her and left another message. Eventually I said I would hold until she was available. At last she answered and I was told of what I needed to supply via fax. I sent it immediately but given that UPS only has one fax line, I waited 3 hours before it went through. I phoned the next day asking if they had received my fax. Again I was put on hold and cut off 3 times! After my fifth call I got hold of this woman. She had not received my fax. So I said I would send it by email. Once I sent it, I called for confirmation and again phoned over 5 times before getting hold of her. They now have the documentation. It's been 13 days since I ordered this package and I fear I will never receive it. Next time I'll use FEDEX!

I'm currently dealing with UPS over a phone that I paid to have shipped overnight. This phone is VERY important to me as I cannot connect my service until I receive the phone and that's the only service I have -- in other words, I've been without a phone all day long.

I called multiple times and was told each time that it would be here by 7:00 PM. I finally had my cell phone company call them. I have been reassured that I WILL receive the package tonight. I was told I would get a call from the local office by 7:00 PM. They finally called at 7:14 PM. The last I heard from Customer Service, I was told that "oh yeah, it's 7:00 PM OR until they finish their route."

I suppose I will eventually receive my package, but I have every intention of filing a BBB complaint.

UPS LIES

UPS always lies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just yesterday I was waiting for two boxes to arrive. One was delivered and the other was not. When I check their website the driver had stated that we where not home. First of all, I have not left my house in a week. Second, if I was not home, how did they deliver the one box. UPS is the worst carried in the world. Don't bother to complaint. I have and nobody cares care at that company. When you order, if possible request Fedex and don't give them your business. No wonder they call themselves brown and we all know what brown stands for. MAY UPS ROT IN HELL!!!!!!

Last year, I paid UPS $52.10 for an international shipment. I have the waybill and the receipt to prove it.T If that wasn't bad enough, the scammers from UPS have sent me a collection notice stating that I owe them another $52.10 for the same shipment. he shipment could not have been delivered to my door if I hadn't paid for it because the package had C.O.D written on the front. Even if you pay these ripoff artists, they will still find a way to charge you double for the same shipment. Be forewarned. Never throw away your waybill, your packaging, or your receipts when you deal with UPS. They have a very nasty way of trying to rip you off each time. Now, I have to go back to the collection and UPS to clear up this matter. Avoid this kind of situation. Don't use UPS.

Hi
I used UPS for the first time ever last week to send my brother's suit from the UK to the USA (he was Best Man at my cousin's wedding) I sent the suit on Thursday 22 June 2006 and had paid for it to be delivered on Friday 23 June 2006 by 10:30am. The wedding was the following day (Saturday, 24 June 2006.) As you can imagine, the suit did not arrive as promised- UPS had sent the package on the wrong service despite my paying for the UPS Express NA1 service. As you can imagine I am livid. Despite promises that the suit would be delivered on Saturday (after I had notified UPS of their mistake), the suit did not arrive.
My brother ended up wearing an oversized cream suit (the only one available - he hired it at the last moment!) Of course I am seeking compensation and will take the case through the UK Small Claims Court (if need be) Suffice it to say - I will not be using their 'services' again.
